The process to be followed in the use and application of LOCTITE 243 is as follows:
- Clean all the elements that make up the threaded joint with an effective degreaser.
- Once dry, assess the possibility of using a suitable activator which will speed up the curing process.
- Vigorously shake the bottle of LOCTITE 243 to achieve a correct homogenization of its compounds and thus avoid loss of properties.
- Unlock the applicator nozzle by pulling it up.
- Start the application bearing in mind that the end of the dispenser tip must never touch the surface during the application, since if it did there would be a risk of clogging. The application must be carried out as follows depending on the type of threaded joint:
- In through holes: apply several drops of product on the cut of the male thread that will be in contact with the female.
- In blind holes: apply several drops of LOCTITE 243 to the lower third of the internal thread or to the very base of the hole.
- For the sealing of bolts and screws: apply a ring of product to the input bolts of the male connection, leaving the first thread free, taking care to fill in the valleys between ridges. In the case of large threaded joints, adjust the amount of product in proportion and additionally apply a ring of product on the female thread.
- Join the pieces and tighten with the appropriate tool to the tightening torque indicated by the manufacturer.
